Olympics and Paralympics Poetry Competition

Pens at the ready – we want to hear from you!

In celebration of this summer’s Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, we’re challenging young writers to create a poem celebrating their favourite countries and cultures from around the globe. This could be a poem that celebrates your heritage, somewhere you have visited or somewhere you would like to visit.

Remember, poetry doesn’t always have to rhyme and can have many creative interpretations, so think outside the box!

The judges’ favourite entry will win a £1,000 prize for their school!

Please submit all entries by Friday 7th June and make sure to include the child’s name, school and age, and your school’s contact details.

Entries can be dropped off at our Guest Services Desk at The Marlowes or posted to:

Olympics Poetry Competition

Management Suite, The Marlowes Shopping Centre

Hemel Hempstead

HP1 1DX

Entries received will even be put on display at The Marlowes for shoppers to read and enjoy after the competition has closed!

Please note that entries are posted at their own risk and any entries received after this date will not be counted.

On your marks, get set, go!
